Florida Equality – Tallahassee, FL — Equality Florida’s TransAction Network hosted a vigil in the Florida State Capitol to recognize Transgender Day of Remembrance and Visibility. City of Orlando – For residents concerned about potential changes in federal transgender policy, @citybeautiful‘s long-time non-discrimination ordinance protects our diverse population and includes gender identity. Federal changes wouldn’t impact our protections and we’ll remain an inclusive city.


Orlando Top 10 LGBTQ+ CityIn the Orlando metro area, over 4% of the population is LGBT. The Florida city is home to LGBT professional groups, youth programs and a chamber of commerce  — the Metropolitan Business Association Orlando — which hosts networking events along with its Pride in Business Awards event annually. Orlando is also the primary destination because of The Center, the LGBT Community Center of Central Florida, which conducts some of the largest HIV testing in the state. Finally, Orlando wouldn’t be the vibrant city it is without its thriving LGBT nightlife scene.

Safe Zone Series

The UCF Safe Zone Series (formerly known as Allies) is a program for UCF students, staff and faculty members interested in showing visual support for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning (GLBTQ) persons at the university in an effort to reduce heterosexism, homophobia, and transphobia at UCF and to increase LGBTQ+ inclusion by embracing and valuing people of all sexual and gender identities.
